About Audemic
Audemic is on a mission to make knowledge more accessible through creating new, and friendlier ways to digest academic research.
There are 6 million research papers published every year, and with Audemic’s fast-growing web application, we are making this under-utilised resource available to researchers and curious knowledge-seekers worldwide in a unique and customisable way, powered by Natural Language Processing and Text-to-speech.
The Role
We are now looking for a full-stack developer to join the team at Audemic. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in joining an early stage startup as one of the first 5 engineers on the team, where you’ll have the chance to have a huge impact on the product, and the entire company as we grow!
We are fully remote (Within the EU), but have offices in Spain and the UK. Compensation is between €18,000 - €30,000 plus equity as one of the first hires on the team.
What you’ll do
We are looking for a Full-Stack Developer to help us develop and implement our Application and scale it to millions of users. Continuous learning is a priority at Audemic and we support all our team with learning and development.
Responsibilities
- Work with the CTO and CPO to iterate and scale the Audemic web application, and build new products and services from scratch
- Develop, deploy, and deliver this highly innovative product with consideration towards long term scalability.
- Solve exciting technical problems
- Improve our engineering standards and processes
Who you are

Technical skills
- End-to-end web application development.
- At least one backend framework (Ruby on Rails, Next.js, Django, etc…)
- At least one modern JavaScript framework
- Good understanding of front-end technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS
- Strong communication skills with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in developing and deploying hybrid mobile apps
- Experience setting up sustainable DevOps processes.
- Having worked with Python.
- Experience in working closely with a designer to implement and evolve a UI design system.
- Experience running team(s) of developers.
