Ruby on Rails developer maintaining a major contact center platform - Building wedding sites, & custom tools on the side

About me

Hey there 👋

My name is Aymeric. I spent my early career in startups building with Ruby on Rails, where I fell in love with the framework. That passion led me to my current role at RingCentral, where I work on Engage Digital, a major multi-channel (WhatsApp, Facebook, mail, etc..) contact center platform built in Rails. I also maintain a native JavaScript chat library, the little bubble on the top left corner on a lot of sites, well I'm a maintainer of our version !

Over the years, I've learned a ton about the holy RAILS. On the side, I build custom wedding websites with full-featured admin panels, templated email sending, custom RSVP forms, music players, all in native Rails, for friends mostly but also for myself.

I do my best to stay up to date with the latest framework releases and I'm a strong advocate for following Rails conventions and best practices. I believe in the web without heavy JS frameworks, HTML over the wire, lean code, simple architecture. As developers, we love to think we're building complex things. But most of the time, we're really building simple things.

So let's embrace that simplicity.
